This Carbon Literacy accredited course is aimed at people working or studying within the Primary Care and Health sector. A flexible blend of online, home based and live events have been designed by GP Dr Matt Sawyer to provide the opportunity to become Carbon Literate through a demanding working environment.
During the course, we will learn about the science behind climate change and how we got to this point, before talking about what net zero carbon means for the UK and our sector. Finally, we will discuss practical steps that primary care and health organisations can take to start taking action to reduce their carbon footprints.

A live online action planning workshop specifically for primary healthcare* (can also be completed as self directed modules if required)
A Carbon Literacy workbook which accompanies the course, including useful reference and aids planning for a green practice plan
A free guide to support a general practice in becoming low carbon.

Anyone can learn to 'Speak Carbon'. Our accessible and easy to digest courses have been designed so that everyone gets something out of them: from beginners to seasoned campaigners.
When you have completed a day’s worth of Carbon Literacy training, you will join our growing network of trainers, specialists and folk who Speak Carbon. Bringing together all communities and organisations; working collaboratively to achieve our mission of making: one day’s Carbon Literacy learning available to everyone.
Carbon Literacy: “An awareness of the carbon dioxide costs and impacts of everyday activities, and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis.” Today, over 17,000 individuals and more than 40 organisations are Carbon Literate.
